She is a mother, who is restless,
But still strives hard to feed her child
She is a daughter, who is helpless,
But she is the one who understands her mothers’
Agony and plight
She is a sister, who is reckless,
To help her sister who is being harassed by her in-law
Day and night
She is a beloved of a guy so shameless,
Who considers her no less than an object of amusement
For a night
She is a wife of a husband so thankless,
Who takes her for granted and dominates her to satisfy his ego
To prove that he is right
She is a woman, who is so careless,
To be indifferent to her own feelings and pain
And scared enough to raise her voice
To fight for her own rights
She is the one who cries in despair…..
To feed, understand, help, love, endure and satisfy those
From whom she only expects love, affection and care…..
wow....a befitting tribute to womanhood
ReplyDeleteNicely drafted , Few roles which woman plays here is sad and which reflects in your poem.
ReplyDeleteVery very good work. However, women of this era have come up way long to mark their presence in the society. They are now in every other field writing their success stories, even we have many women in leadership too, yet they are sweet mothers, caring sisters balancing their professional and personal life. To mention couple of eminent persons: Shabana Azmi, Sudha murthy, Rohini Nilekani, Farah Khan, Dr Tessy Thomas, Kiran Mazumndar and list goes on.
